What if I told you that Blizzard Entertainment has built an entire market off of illegal hacking and botting; one where they benefit monetarily from player-owned bots gathering items endlessly on their servers? I'm sure many who played Diablo 2 understand that hacking, botting, and 3rd party item-selling websites have been around since the game's very humble beginnings but they might also be disappointed to know that in 2019 they still exist and are thriving. For better or worse; Diablo 2 has regular ladder/season resets which churns the same illegal hackers that have been running bots for close to 20 years. Diablo 2 is unfortunately a game that limits the players access to specific items when not playing in an online ladder game (a ladder in D2 is basically another name for a season and it resets every 6 months); without Blizzard stopping their support of Diablo 2's online capability they need to reset the ladder so players can find and craft a large portion of the stronger items inside the game. Blizzard could remaster the game but that in itself has been rumored to be one of the more difficult tasks mainly due to when and how the game was designed (Video linked in comments of David Brevik: creator of the Diablo series explains more on this).
Beyond the rumors that Blizzard does not have the expertise or interest to undertake any major updates it's clear Diablo 2 has been relatively ignored by Blizzard. Because of the technological difficulty of working with such a dated but still heavily played game like Diablo 2 – the official Blizzard website is the only place you are able to buy keys. There are no 3rd party key sellers of Diablo 2 that are legitimate. So if anyone wants to buy a legal version of D2 they pay 20$ directly to Blizzard (10$ for the base Diablo 2 game and 10$ for the DLC Lord of Destruction). This also means if someone is caught cheating and gets banned they will need to pay Blizzard 20$ to buy a new key. Because Diablo 2's core gameplay is item heavy and requires hours of playtime and level clearing to find the best items it's perfect for automated bots. Also casual gamers who still love the nostalgia of playing but are unable to put the time necessary into earning good items; have several illegal options to access the gear. Whether that's buying forum or discord gold and trading that for items or spending real cash directly on websites for the items.

To the normal observer this might not seem severe but because Diablo 2 runs on classic Battlenet for free for anyone with an active key, there isn't much of a reason for Blizzard to keep the Diablo 2 servers maintained and staffed if there isn't some form of revenue stream. None of the item sites are known to be owned by Blizzard so key sales are the only was for Blizzard to make money. Pokemon fire red nuzlocke rom download.

Let's look at some numbers:

At the time of writing this article there were 16,103 people playing 14,802 games Diablo 2 games (Sunday July 7th, 2019) just on the official Battlenet servers and it was posted on Reddit earlier that day that Diablo 2 hit 23,669 players (which doesn't count the thousands playing modded versions of Diablo 2 as well as single player or local). That is a very impressive number: one that is especially a mark of a success on Steam. Games like Dead by Daylight, Arma 3, and Payday 2 put up similar numbers on Steam as of writing this article.

That's a substantial amount of people still playing. But were there really 16,000 people playing Diablo 2? The answer is no. There are thousands and thousands of bots running autonomously on the servers as we speak. Most in private games, mining high runes, item bases for runewords, as well as rare set and super unique items to be sold on the internet on both forum gold and real money websites. The very casual 24 to 35 year old which picks up Diablo 2 again will play for a few hours before realizing the leaderboard and open leveling games are filled up by bots. With the time they have allocated to play games it would be impossible to compete but luckily items are cheap. A good amount of the players will go to a forum gold website or to an item seller and spend 5-10$ to get the best items in the game without spending the time needed. Cara vector gratis dari shutterstock di. The forum gold strategy has remained very popular among repeat players as they use forum gold from trades on previous ladders to try to 'even the playing field' not fully understanding or caring that they are adding to the botting ecosystem.

Let's imagine that out of 16,000 players right now half of them are botting accounts; that is $160,000 in keys which would pay a good portion of server costs needed to run a game like Diablo 2 for a long time. Keep in mind a slight code change could disrupt the bots rendering them useless until patched, also an update to the security protocols leading to the banning of keys could cause a massive influx in key purchases. Blizzard has banned thousands of accounts from time to time; specifically ones that fit botting characteristics but the bot numbers never seems to go down because the fix is as simple as buying new game keys and making a couple changes to the bot settings. The sad part is if you play Diablo 2 you know that the real number is over 50% of active players are bots. Besides internet costs it's free to run however many copies of Diablo 2 as you can and it's free to run bots all day long and once you understand the very few measures Blizzard put in place to combat them many years ago; it's a breeze. Not all of the bot runners are selling their gear; some just do it to see what items they get because finding really rare items with high stats is the name of the game. You will often find open games with free items spread out everywhere or posts on reddit indicating a locked game with loads of free loot. This is why legit players have such a hard time accepting bots because they grind to find good items but then cannot yield any substantial trade value.

It's not all bad for Diablo 2 online play and it still requires a human to playthrough the game at least for the first time to find basic items before letting bots run. And every 6 month players will race the ladder to be out front. The problem is when normal humans need to go to bed that's where cheaters will let their bots take over. It's not like Blizzard isn't aware of the problem. But nothing is ever said or done about the botting issue publicly. There are some really basic things they could implement to kill the botting community all together. They don't do it. Instead they opt for ban waves and hoarding key sales. At the end of the day if you want to play the game in your own way you are free to do so. The crazy part is somehow through it all Blizzard is benefitting from the hacking and cheating play style. It's no wonder why they never put a real attempt at trying to fight it. For me as a player, I would rather the game stay the same then it go away forever. But some do not feel that way. I talk to gamers all the time that didn't even realize Diablo 2 was still a thing. And its hard for many to get passed the aged graphics and hardcore play style but it's one of the greatest games of all time and you can still play it online with your friends the same way many did in the early 2000's.

So what's the solution?

Unfortunately Blizzard has shown recently that they are incapable of understanding their own franchise in Diablo and do not have the proper technical or general expertise required to pull off a remaster that could replace our current Diablo 2. It's impossible without neglecting what we know as Diablo 2. If you want to really play D2 on classic Battlenet nothing is stopping you. You will likely see several active bot games that you can actually use to level your characters; they will always send friend requests and open portals to assist all tagalongs with xp. Or you ignore them all together. There are several amazing mods that have grown organically from Blizzards neglecting of Diablo 2. Some go as far as removing the bot presence altogether and have thousands of people playing on private servers. With Diablo 2 being so old it's likely very cheap for Blizzard to run its servers. Blizzard could make money on banning bots a couple times a year and they would have the support of the community in doing so. The solution is coming out and being transparent with the community. Let us know what's up. How do they view Diablo 2, what are their plans, and what can legitimate players do to help support the game? These are all things we would love to know and hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of people would love to know what the future holds in store for Diablo 2 because as of now Blizzard has left it in purgatory; waiting forever for either a true follow up, a remaster, or just some closure as to what to expect moving forward.

As an avid player and proponent of the game I wish I could help or offer my services in anyway. But I need some form of acknowledgement that they are trying or even want help. The 3rd party item problem is a storied issue and Diablo 2 is a founding father. We saw Blizzard trying to capitalize themselves with the concept when they released the Diablo 3 auction house which was basically modeled after item selling sites. But there is something wrong about paying real money for in game advantage and they know it, everyone knows it.

The Sorceress class is able to deal high elemental damage and also ranged AoE attacks. She performs great against large groups of monsters, but she isn't used often for her teamwork. Due to the other classes' elemental resistances, Sorceress deals lower amounts of damage in PvP combat, but still, she remains one of the best classes in PvP. This is thanks to her ability to move rapidly or teleport across the map, in combination with her ranged attacks. As a result, she is ideal for Hit-and-Run tactics. Below is a list of Diablo 2 Sorceress builds.

Diablo

Common Sorceress builds

  • Blizzard Sorceress: Depends on Cold Spells, with the Blizzard spell as the main skill. With the proper equipment, it's a fearsome build for PvP fights. The right combination of teleport and cold spells can be proved fatal for her enemies.
  • Lightning Sorceress: Based on Lightning Spells. The primary skill is the Chain Lightning.
Diablo
  • Fire Sorceress: Depends on the leveling up of Fire Ball, Fire Mastery, and other fire skills, as they increase the Fire Ball damage and bonuses. It seems to have the higher damage output of all Sorceress builds. Although the build can bring destruction from miles away, its weakness lies to high Fire resistance, because it spends almost all the points in Fire skills.
  • Frozen Orb Sorceress: Depends on the use of Cold Spells, with Frozen Orb to be the main skill. Thanks to this skill's great AoE, this build is the most common in PvP. On the other hand, it has lower damage output compared to other builds, but most sustainability, due to Energy Shield as the secondary skill.
  • Cold/Fire Sorceress: Relies on both Cold and Fire Spells. The primary skills are the Meteor and the Frozen Orb.

From the above Diablo 2 Sorceress builds, the most popular and probably the most effective in both multi and single-player are the Blizzard, Frozen Orb, and Fire Ball Sorceress. Also, almost all builds use the Teleport and Energy Shield skills, for maneuverability and protection.

Builds such as Chain Lightning or Blizzard Sorceress heavily depend on mana synergies. They place almost all of their points into Lightning and Cold spells respectively, in order to maximize the damage of their main skills.

In opposite, builds like Frozen Orb, Fire Wall, Enchant or Thunder Storm have almost no synergies. This allows them to use their primary spells in combination with other spells.

Among the three elemental build types, the strongest one is probably the Cold Spells Sorceresses, because the Cold Mastery provides Cold Resistance based on percentage.

Lightning Sorceresses are weaker due to the longer casting time of their spells. In addition, their total damage output is unreliable (1-1900), despite the fact that the maximum possible damage per hit is higher than the other types.
